Your Guide to the 2013 Pig & Whiskey Street Party

The third annual celebration of food, drink and music takes place Friday, July 19, through Sunday, July 21, in Ferndale.

Visitors can sample barbecue, whiskey and live music during the mouth-watering Pig & Whiskey street party from Friday, July 19, through Sunday, July 21, in Ferndale.

The Metro Times is partnering with Woodward Avenue Brewers, Jack Daniels and other sponsors for the third annual event, which will close East Troy Street and feature barbecue and more eats from 11 Metro Detroit restaurants. Guests also will be able to sample a large variety of local beers and participate in outdoor games.

Treat Dreams will serve up its unusual ice cream creations and the following Ferndale purveyors will be among those slinging drinks: Valentine Distilling Co., Imperial, The Oakland: Art Novelty Company, John D: American Bistro Bar, Toast and Torino: Espresso + Bar.

Local musical acts Passalacqua, Flint Eastwood, Alexis, Tunde Olaniran and special guests will play during a kick-off party from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday sponsored by Jack Daniels.
