Ryan Allen, Neighbor

Instead of clown school, sky-diving academy or ninja training, Ryan Allen went to Central Michigan University -- way back in the '90s, mind you -- to study the written word. Between multiple viewings of the Garbage Pail Kids movie, NBA Live video game tournaments and trying to sleep through the comforting sounds of the first DMX album, he somehow found time to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism, minoring in Interpersonal Communications. Since then, the boy-turned-man-who-still-a-looks-like-boy has written and worked for such industry giants as Real Detroit Weekly, the Metro Times, Detour Magazine, Metromode, Model D, Concentrate and Cengage Learning. He also spends his time making music, having played shows and released countless albums with the likes of Thunderbirds are Now!, Friendly Foes, the Cold Wave, Destroy This Place and Red Shirt Brigade. Also, he's not as much of a jerk as you might think.
