Reply"Begs to be mocked"? That is where we will certainly disagree. How about looking at the positive? "What other schools do this?" Maybe those "other schools" are wrong in NOT doing it. I'm not going to change your mind...nor do I care to. Again, I refer to my trolling comment. You have an agenda..."Ferndale Schools Suck". I, honestly, respect your right to disagree with the schools but I absolutely disagree with you choosing this article to push that agenda. An article about Meier and his decisions...fine, but a positive article involving kids, is, in my opinion, inappropriate.

Nope, You can think how you want...I have no problem with myopic views...their yours. My problem is your mocking of an event (centered around children) meant to promote peace and open mindedness. I'm sure you've complained about the violence in today's society (as I have); this is the age where we nip it in the bud.

That was not about RTW that was about the amending of the constitution. Don't confuse the two. As for companies "flocking" to Michigan, 1st Michigan hasn't had too much of a hard time attracting industry (aren't we one of the top alternative energy product producing states?) 2nd please explain how 7 of the poorest 10 states are RTW. It doesn't benefit anyone but the Republican agenda. I equate this to the South losing Richmond to the North during the Civil War...they burned it to the ground as they were retreating. The lame-duck is doing the same.

I am a "good citzen of Ferndale that live in the neighborhood" two houses away to be exact. I DO want what is best for the students. Without an educated population we are doomed. We can't keep up with this "they're from Detroit so screw em" mentality. I am encouraged by the decisions made by the district. I do have to say the school is on "thin ice" with me but lets tighten the reigns and see what happens.

ReplyI for one actually had a nice time voting. Yeah, it was a long wait 2 hours and 10 minutes at Taft. BUT, it was good to interact with community neighbors. Everyone in our "neck of the line" were in good moods. The good humors within those hallways definitely made it more tolerable. It made me proud to be a Ferndalian!

Thank you, Mayor Coulter, for, at least, addressing that there is an issue. I honestly don't mind the new system it's not my favorite but its not the worst either. What I think this new system has done has taken a little bit of that "pay it forward" type of community out of Ferndale. Gone are the days of pulling in to a spot that still has time on it or putting more money in so the next person could benefit...even the new digital meters in R.O. tell you if there is time left at that spot. I don't drive around looking for that scenario it's just a bonus. It is the sense of community that brought me here to Ferndale...its unfortunate that little things like this chip away at that fabric.
