About Amanda
Born and raised in West Bloomfield, I have called Ferndalemy home since January 2011. I am currently attending Wayne State University working towards co-majors in Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies as well as Sociology.
In 2010 I founded the non-profit Love Your Body Detroit, a local grassroots on the street activism organization our main goal is to bring awareness about weight bias, fat hatred and the prevention of eating disorders to the Metro Detroit area.
I blog about body politics, the social construction of health, and activism.

I would love to continue our discussion/debate but I'm not sure the comment section of Patch is the appropriate place. Could we email about it?
