Your Guide to Ferndale's 2012 Holiday Ice & Winterfest Market Dec. 7-9

Annual event kicks off Friday night with official tree lighting ceremony.

The 2012 Holiday Ice & Winterfest Market will be held in downtown Ferndale this weekend, offering three days of holiday cheer and family fun. The Ferndale Downtown Development Authority developed the festival to provide a hometown holiday experience for residents, neighbors and friends. This year's event is presented by sponsor MotorCity Casino Hotel and supported by downtown businesses. [See photos from last year's Holiday Ice & Winterfest Market here.] Admission is free. Free photos with Santa available on Saturday. Items offered by various vendors priced separately. Santa Arrives! And Other Holiday Fun in Oakland County This Weekend (Nov. 17-18)

Looking for some holiday cheer in the area? Santa is busy this weekend with a parade in Royal Oak, listening to wishes in Troy, and arriving in Rochester Hills.

Santa has a busy agenda this weekend. He's going to be traveling around Oakland County for a parade, a welcome and other fun events. Santa Scamper in downtown Royal Oak: The half-mile run along Washington Avenue on Nov. 18 is open to all walkers, joggers, and runners. The noncompetitive event takes place at 1:30 p.m.,  just ahead of Royal Oak's Holiday Magic Parade. Registration includes a race number, Santa hat, McDonald’s coupon and hot chocolate after the run to enjoy while watching the parade.
