What flavor of ice cream would you choose for Ferndale Patch? Patch has partnered with Treat Dreams to host a flavor contest. Starting today, Nov. 14, you have two weeks to tell us what you think the Patch flavor should be. Get as creative as you like with the ingredients! This is Treat Dreams, after all - home to flavors like Hot Jalapeno and Sunday Breakfast (yes, with bacon!). Share your ideas by 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 28. We'll send them all over to Treat Dreams owner Scott Maloney who will narrow it down to the top three, and then we'll bring it back to you for a vote. Voting will last one week on Ferndale.patch.com. Treat Dreams Offers Free Ice Cream Outside DIA on Sunday

The Ferndale ice cream shop and the local hip hop group Passalacqua will celebrate the end of summer with free ice cream at Customer Appreciation Day on Sunday at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

After being named one of Michigan's top 10 Ice Cream shops by MLive.com (and the only top 10 shop in the metro Detroit area), Ferndale's Treat Dreams is teaming up with hip hop group Passalacqua to celebrate the end of summer with a Customer Appreciation Day this Sunday, Sept. 23 outside the Detroit Institute of Arts on Woodward Avenue in Detroit.  Treat Dreams, known for its unique ice cream, teamed up with Passalacqua to create a unique flavor titled Fish In Space: a blue moon ice cream with vanilla cupcake goldfish grahams. Kids Invited to Story Time at Library for Ferndale 'Green Week'

The family-friendly event will feature stories focused on the environment and nature. Free ice cream will be provided by Treat Dreams in Ferndale.

Ferndale's fourth annual Green Week continues today with "Youth Day." Head to the Ferndale Public Library at 6 p.m. today for a family story time, where free ice cream from Treat Dreams will be provided. The event is part of the weeklong "earth celebration" organized by the Ferndale Environmental Sustainability Commission along with support from the Ferndale Downtown Development Authority, the local business community and other area organizations. Douglas Christie, chair of the Ferndale Environmental Sustainability Commission, said the storytime will be focused on sustainability, the environment and nature.
