Mr. Kabob is no longer a hidden gem. Mention the name, and the response is almost always, "Oh, that place in a gas station?" It is true that Mr. Kabob is located in the Sunoco at 12 Mile and Coolidge in Berkley, but that should not diminish expectations. The shop serves serious Middle Eastern cuisine that is flavorful, fresh and affordable. The Gulli family started Mr. Kabob Mediterranean Cuisine in 2003 next to the family’s gas station, and it has since grown into a franchise business. While dining in is an option, most food is taken to go. Remember, even if the food is exceptional, the restaurant is still in a gas station, which doesn't provide much ambiance.
