Area outage on Wednesday morning was due to downed power line, according to DTE.
Update 10:12 a.m.: Power has been restored to the area previously affected by an area outage on Wednesday morning, DTE spokesman Scott Simons said. Simons said the outage was due to a downed power line. He said power was back on by 8:30 a.m. Nearly 600 DTE customers in Ferndale were without power early Wednesday morning, according to a DTE outage map. Harding Administration Center was affected by the outage earlier this morning but power is now back on, said district community relations director Stephanie Hall.

About 799 customers in Ferndale were without power as of 9 p.m. Sunday, according to a DTE outage map. DTE listed the estimated restoration time as Monday between 9:30-11:30 p.m. Patch will provide updates as more information becomes available.

More than 2,500 DTE Energy customers in Ferndale were without power at one point last week after severe thunderstorms hit the area July 4. By Monday evening, the number of customers in the city still without power was down to 57. The storms affected more than 300,000 customers in southeast Michigan and caused more than 1,000 downed power lines. Service has now been restored to more than 98 percent of those who lost power. DTE's outage map showed 410 customers still without power as of late Sunday night - down significantly from earlier Sunday when more than 1,200 customers were without power. The largest area of outage has an expected restoration time of Friday evening, however a DTE spokeswoman said earlier Thursday that the southeast Michigan region won't be entirely "back to normal" until late Saturday night - assuming no further severe weather. I'm fortunate to have power. My neighbor, unfortunately, is not so lucky. They are the ONLY home all around us that sits darkened. DTE gives an estimate of Friday before it's back on. Unbelievable!!! And this isn't the first time they've been the only house affected.   more ›
