Generations Combine for Ferndale Blues Fest Grand Finale

Ferndale High School and Middle School jazz bands will perform for local senior citizens at the Kulick Center on Wednesday, Feb. 6.

The 12th annual Ferndale Blues and Music Festival is coming to a close on Wednesday evening with a concert that aims to "bring the generations together." At 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, the Ferndale High School and Ferndale Middle School Jazz Bands will be performing in a special “Grand Finale” concert at the Gerry Kulick Community Center. The two bands, under the direction of Tim Burke, were invited to play at the center by the Ferndale Seniors Group. "We wanted music to bring the generations together,” said Jeannie Davis, president of the Ferndale Seniors. "Music is a common language that we all share."
