Police say the 19-year-old man confessed to a Nov. 1 home invasion on Edgewood Place in Ferndale.
Ferndale Police arrested a 19-year-old Detroit man on Thursday who is suspected of a Nov. 1 home invasion on Edgewood Place. On Nov. 1, officers responded to an audible house alarm on the 200 block of Edgewood Place and arrived to find the home had been broken into through a back window. An X-Box, iPad, computer and jewelry had been stolen from the home, and a television was left in the backyard, according to a press release from Ferndale Police. Officers recovered fingerprints from the scene which turned out to be from Anthony O'Neal, 19, of Detroit, the report states. The suspect in Friday's attempted home invasion in Ferndale was arraigned on Tuesday in 43rd District Court. Jeffrey Paul Reiher, a 32-year-old parole absconder, was charged with first-degree attempted home invasion - a five-year felony. Magistrate Patrick Brennan arraigned Reiher and set bond at $50,000 cash/surety, according to a press release from police. The suspect had been shot at by the homeowner during the attempted home invasion, which took place on Edgewood Place on Friday. The homeowner had discovered that his home was being attacked by an unknown person around 10:45 a.m. Friday and fired his handgun at the suspect, police said. The suspect in an attempted home invasion last week on Edgewood Place will be arraigned Tuesday, police said.
Police have arrested the suspect in a recent attempted home invasion on Edgewood Place, said Ferndale Police Chief Tim Collins. Collins told council members at their regular meeting Monday night that the suspect will be arraigned on Tuesday. "That individual has been apprehended by us and is in custody," Collins said. The suspect had been shot at by the homeowner during the attempted home invasion, which took place on Friday. The 22-year-old Ferndale man is suspected of breaking into an apartment in his complex and stealing a resident's computer and keys, police said.
Ferndale Police arrested a man on Wednesday who is suspected of breaking into an apartment in his complex and stealing a computer and other items. Paul Nicholas Proimos, 22, of Ferndale, was arraigned in Ferndale's 43rd District Court on Thursday afternoon and charged with second-degree home invasion, a 15-year felony. Bond was set at $5,000. On Wednesday, Ferndale Police investigated a report of an apartment that was burglarized on the 400 block of West Marshall. The suspect appeared to have entered through a window that faced a porch area common to multiple apartments.
