Hybrid Moments, a downtown Ferndale record shop and independent clothing store, announced this week that it will close its doors at the end of February. In a message on the shop's Facebook page, owner Johnny Weeks wrote that Hybrid Moments is going on hiatus and will be back for "chapter two" in the future. "I want to say thank you so much for all your love and support. Been nothing but great times!" he wrote in the announcement. "We are excited about the future and hope that you'll be by our side when the time comes for chapter two." Weeks could not be reached for comment Thursday or Friday. For Dennis and Maria Long, retirement is more of a beginning than an ending. Both newly retired – Dennis worked as a master electrician and Maria managed retiree benefits – the Detroit couple is embarking on a new adventure that officially began Tuesday at the grand opening of D's Treasure Chest at 825 W.
