Update: Cat Returned to Ferndale Resident

"Foxy," the missing Maine Coon cat who turned up posted for adoption on Craigslist, is now home safely.

Ferndale resident Marilu Andracke has been reunited with her Maine Coon cat, "Foxy," more than a month after the cat went missing. Patch published this story last week after Andracke said she found what appeared to be her missing cat listed for adoption on Craigslist. She said she tried to contact the author of the ad multiple times but didn't get a response. After five days, she contacted Ferndale Police, who said it wasn't a police matter but one detective did send the poster an email to see if it would help. Andracke says she was finally able to figure out who had her cat and, just a few hours after she did, the person brought the cat to the Ferndale detective who had sent the email. Ferndale Cat Owner Says Craigslist Poster Won't Return Pet

A resident says her Maine Coon cat "Foxy," missing since early November, is posted for adoption on Craigslist.

A Ferndale resident is left baffled and distressed as she tries to bring her lost cat "Foxy" home but isn't getting a response from someone on Craigslist who appears to have found her. Marilu Andracke contacted Patch in early November when her small Maine Coon cat first went missing - we posted this lost pet notice. Nothing turned up until a few days ago, when people started emailing her about a post on Craigslist seeking an adoptive family for a cat found in Ferndale who "exactly matched" her cat, she said. She quickly emailed the person who posted the ad and explained the situation, but she says she never heard back. The next day, the same ad was posted again but it called the cat a different name.
