Ferndale Represents at the Detroit Urban Craft Fair This Weekend

It's here art and craft nerds. The one and only Detroit Urban Craft Fair.

On Saturday and Sunday, artists, crafters and fans from throughout metro Detroit will descend onto the massive Masonic Temple in Detroit for the Detroit Urban Craft Fair. The Detroit Urban Craft Fair, created by and sponsored by Handmade Detroit, is in its sixth year. It happens on Saturday, from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m.- 6 p.m., at the Masonic Temple in Detroit. The event will be two days, bringing nearly 100 vendors for your shopping pleasure. Rust Belt Market Preps for Opening Weekend

A month after signing its lease, is ready to open with the works of more than 60 artisans to be featured Saturday and Sunday.

After weeks of hard work, The Rust Belt Market will be able to officially open for its first day of business Saturday. About a month ago, Tiffany and Chris Best signed a lease for the formerly vacant Old Navy building at 22801 Woodward Ave., giving them all 15,000-square-feet of the property to use toward the market, an incubator for artists to control their art and sales. Since that time, it has been a non-stop job, and an estimated $30,000 worth of work, for the couple, transforming the raw, colorless space to suit their bold vision. “We’ve crammed so much in a four-week period,” Tiffany Best said. “It’s crazy around here.” For all the changes that have been made, such as murals by local artists and a central stage area for musical …
