Pete's Place in Ferndale Closes Its Doors

The restaurant announced on its web site that it closed Nov. 25 after four and a half years in business.

Pete's Place in Ferndale has closed its doors as of 9 p.m. Nov. 25. Pete's Place - a Broadway-themed cafe at 1225 Woodward Heights - opened in 2007 by owner Peter Mel. The menu offered a variety of American, Italian, vegetarian and seafood options. "The last four and a half years here have been some of the most interesting, fun, touching times of our lives," the restaurant wrote in an announcement on its web page. "There have been celebrations of all kinds, and even a proposal or two. Many friendships have been forged that will last a lifetime." "These walls, and our hearts, will forever hold these memories," the announcement continued. "Thank you all so very much."
