Ferndale Police, Court Building Renovations on City Council Agenda Tonight

The project would cost about $2 million and be paid for through a special building fund, the Daily Tribune reports.

Ferndale City Council tonight will consider a $2 million project to renovate the city's district court building and police station. Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday. You can view the full agenda here. The project, which would add 3,000 square feet to the 43rd District Court on E. Nine Mile Road and expand the police department by about 700 square feet into space on the first floor of City Hall, would be paid for through an existing building fund, according to an article in the Daily Tribune. “There are safety and structural issues at both buildings that far exceed even the obvious aesthetic problems the buildings have,” Ferndale Mayor Dave Coulter told the newspaper. “The key thing is we wouldn’t have to use any tax money because the …
