Two suspects are in custody after a 52-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint outside Stop & Go in Ferndale on Feb. 9, police said.
Ferndale Police said two men are in custody after a man was robbed at gunpoint outside of a local party store on Saturday. Around 9 p.m. on Feb. 9, police said a 52-year-old man was robbed in the parking lot of the Stop & Go located at 1365 E. Nine Mile Road in Ferndale. According to a news release from Ferndale Police Det. Lt. William Wilson, the man was approached by the robber (a 40-year-old Detroit resident) who had a gun and demanded money and a cell phone from the victim. The victim believed the robber was driven by an accomplice driving a red pick-up truck. A few hours later, Madison Heights had two citizens robbed at gunpoint, and the description of the robber and the getaway vehicle matched those from Ferndale’s robbery. Madison …

Four teens were arrested following the incident, which occurred around 11 a.m. Wednesday, the Daily Tribune reports.
Ferndale Police arrested four teenagers on Wednesday after a student at Ferndale's Digital Learning Center was robbed while walking toward the school, according to an article in the Daily Tribune. The suspects reportedly implied they had a weapon and stole the student's laptop. The laptop was recovered when the suspects were arrested but no weapon was found, the newspaper reports. Around 1:30 p.m. Nov. 15, Ferndale Police received a report that an armed robbery had just occurred near the bus stop on the north side of West Eight Mile Road, west of Livernois. Officers interviewed the victim - a 20-year-old Detroit resident - who reported that he was robbed at gunpoint by two men at the bus stop. OUTSIDE DETROIT -- Police say no one was hurt after a man with a semi-automatic rifle fired up to 10 shots at two people outside the 7-Eleven at Nine Mile and Pinecrest in Ferndale, MI. 2 men steal about $3,000 from O'Reilly's on Eight Mile on Wednesday morning.
With a semi-automatic handgun pressed against his neck, the manager of O'Reilly's Auto Parts in Ferndale was told to "take me to the safe" by one of two men who robbed the store on Wednesday morning, police said. An investigation into an early Sunday morning armed robbery of Wendy's in Ferndale revealed that a victim of the crime is suspected of participating.
A victim in the armed robbery of Wendy's in Ferndale early Sunday morning is now a suspect, Ferndale Police said. Ferndale Police, after an investigation by detective Brendan Moore, have arrested a third suspect who was working at Wendy's during the time of the crime, Ferndale Lt. Detective William Wilson said. The armed robbery took place around 1 a.m. Sunday morning and resulted in two arrests and the discovery that the weapon used in the crime was a bb handgun. Recent crimes in Ferndale have pushed business owners to hold a "Community Crime Watch" meeting with the Ferndale Police Department to get tips on being safe.
Between June 19 and July 18, there were four armed robberies in Ferndale. No one was injured in the incidents and the assailants in two were arrested while two others are still under investigation. As a result, however, Jennifer Clotworthy, general manager at Rosie O'Grady's, reached out the Ferndale Police Department and asked the department to talk with businesses owners and residents about crime prevention and personal protection. Tape shows a man with a gun in black clothing and a red hat knock the convenience store clerk to the ground and take the purse of a customer inside.
Surveillance tape from the 7-Eleven armed robbery at Pinecrest and West Nine Mile early Monday morning shows the gunman hit the clerk, knocking her to the ground and then stealing the purse of another woman inside. The Ferndale Police Department released the tape. It was played from Ferndale Police Lt. Detective William Wilson's computer and recorded by Ferndale Patch.
