7-Eleven Expands Fresh Foods Menu

7-Eleven beefs up fresh foods menu with new premium sandwiches and packaging in Ferndale.

After introducing several new-for-you salads, snacks and mini-versions of consumer favorites, 7-Eleven, Inc. turns its attention to heartier fare with the addition of two new premium sandwiches – the Steakhouse Roast Beef and Bistro Deluxe. Du better ring March, consumers have an added incentive to buy the sandwiches– a free 16-ounce bottled Pepsi drink with purchase. Suggested retail price is $4.29. It's Free Coffee Friday at 7-Eleven

Over 8000 7-Eleven locations nationwide are offering a free 20oz coffee from 6 to 10 a.m. Sept. 28.

Putting the word "free" in front of anything makes whatever that thing is -- better. For example: free beer, free pizza, free coffee. See what I mean? Better. Apparently, officials at 7-Eleven have caught onto this little secret and more than 8,000 participating stores across the country will give away a free 20oz cup of coffee from 6 to 10 a.m. Sept. 28. Limit one per customer. 7-Eleven locations in Ferndale are at 805 East Nine Mile Road and 1040 West Nine Mile Road. Free makes everything better. Especially coffee.

Ferndale Police Seeking Info on 7-Eleven Shooting

Police are still looking for the two men who attempted to rob the store at 1040 W. Nine Mile Road and then used a semi-automatic weapon to fire shots at two bystanders.

Police are still looking for the two men involved in a shooting outside a Ferndale 7-Eleven store early Sunday. Ferndale Police Lt. William Wilson said Thursday that there are no updates on the case and police continue to investigate. Around 2:40 a.m. on Sunday, police said two men wearing masks approached the store at 1040 W. Nine Mile Road intending to rob it but found the doors locked. One was carrying a semi-automatic rifle. Police said the clerk feared the men were going to rob the store and immediately called 911. The men disappeared from the clerk's sight and went around the corner of the building. Happy Birthday, 7-Eleven! Celebrate With a Free Slurpee

Participating locations will give away Slurpees between 11 a.m.-7 p.m. while supplies last.

Oh, thank heaven for July 11. On Wednesday, July 11, 7-Eleven will celebrate its 85th birthday by offering free 7.11-ounce Slurpees to customers at participating stores, including Ferndale's two locations on Nine Mile. Since 2002, millions of free Slurpee beverages have been given away on July 11 and 7-Eleven estimates this to be the biggest birthday to date as they prepare to give away 7 million free Slurpee drinks. The promotion runs from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. In addition, 7-Eleven invites customers in store to peel, play and win with "Big Summer Sweeps" game pieces found on specially marked products throughout the store. Man with Semi-Automatic Rifle Fires Shots Outside Ferndale 7-Eleven

Police said two people were targeted but not injured by a masked man with a semi-automatic rifle around 2:40 a.m. Sunday.

OUTSIDE DETROIT -- Police say no one was hurt after a man with a semi-automatic rifle fired up to 10 shots at two people outside the 7-Eleven at Nine Mile and Pinecrest in Ferndale, MI. Ferndale Police are investigating the incident that occurred around 2:40 a.m. Sunday. Ferndale Police Lt. Casey O'Loughlin said two men approached the 7-Eleven but found the doors locked. One was wearing a Halloween mask and armed with a semi-automatic rifle. Two younger men approached the store moments later and encountered the suspects. The suspects attempted to rob the two younger men and an altercation ensued, O'Loughlin said. "The suspect with the rifle fired off 8 to 10 rounds at the two other citizens," O'Loughlin said.
