Center for Advanced Studies and The Arts (CASA) is a six-district consortium, pulling students from Berkley, Clawson,More Ferndale, Lamphere, Madison and Oak Park High Schools. The students from these districts attend two 55-minute afternoon courses designed to engage students in higher levels of thinking. Advanced placement courses include two world languages, philosphy, interpretive literature and music history, among others. Fine arts courses are also available in dance, art and music. Jefferson Center

The Jefferson Center is part of the Ferndale Public Schools alternative education program. It is located in Oak Park,More on the west side of Republic Street, between Leroy and Saratoga streets. The Jefferson Center services grades 9 through 12. Students can participate in student council as well as go out for basketball.

There are approximately 1,000 students enrolled in the various alternative and adult education programs in the Ferndale school district.

University High School

University High School is a non-traditional school in partnership with Lawrence Technological University. It servesMore grades nine through 12 and keeps students and teachers working closely together by capping the number of students allowed to attend at 500. UHS is a college prep school focusing on college success and jobs in the 21st century. The high school focuses its students on three career paths: 1. Engineering, design and planning; 2. Manufacturing, purchasing and logistics; and 3. Marketing, sales and service.

UHS is located in central Ferndale, between University and Academy streets, on the western edge of Wilson Park. While UHS does not have uniform requirements, it does have a dress code.
