The Butcher's Daughter contemporary art gallery opened in 2009 and is focused on the representation and sale of emerging and mid-career artist's work. The gallery creates innovative, cultural context for art through bi-monthly exhibitions, public events and personalized services for every level of collector. The owner (daughter, grand daughter and sister of a butcher), Monica Bowman, holds a master's degree in museum studies from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., and a specialization in contemporary art from Sotheby's Institute of Art in New York. Bowman teaches at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, is a native Michigander and resides with her husband in Ferndale.
