The Detroit Carpentry Joint Apprenticeship School was established in 1941 to teach all phases of carpentry. Applications are accepted on Wednesdays between 9am and noon throughout the year. This is a four-year course that consists of on-the-job training and in-classroom teaching. The website lists 29 apprentice classes. Every year an apprentice contest is held.
