  • Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year celebration, lasts through the evening of Friday, Sept. 6. 
  • Michigan F.A.S.H. Fest will be held Friday, Sept. 6, through Sunday, Sept. 8, in Detroit. A portion of proceeds will benefit Forgotten Harvest.
  • The Ferndale Street Eats food truck rally comes to The Rust Belt Market from 5-10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7. The Shimmy Shack, whose chef is Kirsten Johnson of Ferndale, will serve up vegan fare; a variety of other trucks also will be on hand.
  • Sunday, Sept. 8, is Grandparents Day at the Michigan Science Center in Detroit. The celebration will include workshops from 1-3 p.m., crafts, nostalgic games, chemistry fun and homemade ice cream program.
