5 Things You Should Know This Week in Ferndale

  1. Springfed Arts will present an Evening Poetry, Prose and Song from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Ferndale Public Library. The event is open to the public and will include refreshments and book signings.
  2. A How the West Was One construction briefing will be given at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, at the Ferndale Downtown Development Authority Office, 149 W. Nine Mile Road. The briefing is open to the public.
  3. Ferndale High School will play its Homecoming game at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, versus Berkley High School. A parade beginning at 6 p.m. at Geary Park will precede the game.
  4. The Homecoming dance will be held from 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at DeCarlo's Banquet in Warren.
  5. The Garden Fresh Gourmet Hilton Fall Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Martin Road Park Activity Center. The event will feature music, kids’ activities, costume contests, pony rides, hay rides, inflatables and more.
