  • The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 5 election is Monday, Oct. 7.
  • The inaugural Ferndale Restaurant Week kicks off Monday, Oct. 7, and lasts through Sunday, Oct. 13.
  • Wet Basement Consultants owner Ron Gay will explain the 10 things a homeowner should know about wet basements and how to fix problems during a free workshop at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the Ferndale Public Library.
  • A How the West Was One construction briefing will be given at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Ferndale Downtown Development Authority Office, 149 W. Nine Mile Road. The briefing is open to the public.
  • Residents are invited to discuss the Affordable Care Act and other issues with Sen. Vincent Gregory from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Ferndale Public Library.
  • The Ferndale Schools All-District Fall Festival kicks off at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the John F. Kennedy School in Oak Park. The event will include games, a bounce house, a climbing wall, food, drinks and more.
