5 Things You Should Know This Week in Ferndale

  1. Soul Explosion performs at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at the Ferndale Public Library as part of the Summer Concert Series.
  2. Champions Meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Coolidge Intermediate School. The theme of the Ferndale Public Schools Strategic Plan Steering Committee town hall event is “Overcoming the Enrollment Challenge.” Members of the public are encouraged to attend.
  3. Celebrate the start of summer break from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Rosie O'Grady's during the restaurant's Out of School Party, which will include a teacher dunk tank, superhero appearance, balloon artist, bounce house, games and more. 
  4. The ARTWN fundraiser for public art in downtown Ferndale will be held 6-9 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Rust Belt Market. The event will feature live and silent auctions, food, drinks, music and more.
  5. The first day of summer will occur Friday, June 21, which is the longest day of the year, otherwise known as the summer solstice.
