5 Things You Should Know This Week in Ferndale

  1. The 43rd District Court in Ferndale will temporarily relocate beginning Monday, July 1, as a renovation project begins on the building.
  2. The Ferndale Public Schools Board of Education and administrators will work on the district's strategic plan update during a retreat Monday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 2, at the Michigan State University Management Education Center in Troy. A summary of the retreat will be delivered during the Board of Education meeting Aug. 19.
  3. "The Iceman" will play during the Wednesday Night Brew & View at 9:30 p.m. July 3 at The Magic Bag. Doors open at 8 p.m. for the 21-and-older event. Admission is $2.
  4. City Hall and 43rd District Court in will be closed Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5, to mark the Fourth of July.
  5. Community Movie Night hosted by Candle Wick Shop and Boston Tea Room will be held at Sunday, July 7. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the free event; the movie starts at 7 p.m. at The 106, 195 W. Nine Mile, Suite 106. E-mail candelwickshoppe@ymail.com for more information.
