Teenagers and even adults struggle every day with depression and some even take matters into their own hands by committing suicide. Some people have depressing thoughts based on appearance, lack of self esteem, being a victim of bullying, among many other things.

According to TeenDepression.org, in the United States alone, about 20 percent of teens will face depression before adulthood, less than 33 percent of teens get help for their depression, and 30 percent of teens that deal with depression will go on to have substance abuse problems.

At the Young Detroit Show - a teen, tween, all ages webshow that broadcasts live online at www.blogtv.com - we not only have a safe and friendly environment for our fan base, to encourage those who may be dealing with depression and thoughts of suicide, but we also have started our own campaign called Write to Ignite.

The focus and gist of the campaign is to prove to teens dealing with depression that there are people out there who really care about them.

Through Write to Ignite, the Young Detroit Show also extends a warm and welcoming invitation to all members of our fan base to come and talk to any of our staff members about their feelings no matter what it may be. Our staff members will keep all matters talked about 100 percent confidential and will not release any pieces of confidential information to anyone within the organization or to anyone that is not with the organization.

We are encouraging our viewers to send in their inspirational or motivational story to us using index cards to tell their story with instrumental music playing in the background as they tell their story. People can either share their story or their positive message to share with people who are suffering. Creating these videos and sharing them online can make a difference and maybe even save someone's life!
