Ferndale Wrestler Seeks State Title This Weekend
After sixth- and third-place finishes in 2010 and 2011, respectively, senior Chevez Farris is going for the title at the Palace of Auburn Hills this weekend in the MHSAA Individual State Wrestling Finals.

Farris (40-2), who won the Tecumseh individual wrestling regional on Feb. 18, was the Eagles only wrestler to qualify for regionals or state finals.
Farris takes on Mike Gould (34-8), a senior from St. John, in the first round. Action starts at the Palace at 2:15 p.m.

Farris reached , but fell short of fulfilling his goal of winning a state championship. He won the consolation bracket and finished in third. In 2010, he finished sixth.
