New Boosters Group to Support Ferndale Baseball Programs

Ferndale Baseball Boosters currently seeking members, volunteers.

A new non-profit organization has formed to help support Ferndale baseball programs.

The goal of the Ferndale Baseball Boosters is to provide ongoing support to the Ferndale Public Schools baseball programs, including the middle school teams and high school teams, according to group vice president Jim Michalak.

People are needed to join the Boosters and volunteer opportunities are also available, Michalak said in an announcement of the new organization.

Because the sport is not pay-to-play, the Boosters will work to help the teams with needs such as equipment, uniforms, hats and more. The group is working on improving the field, dugouts and concessions area, and has a goal to get a scoreboard for the varsity field.

The Ferndale Baseball Boosters is also seeking sponsorships from the local business community. More events and fundraisers will be announced soon, according to Michalak.
