Student Athlete Heart Screening Program

Beaumont doctors have screened 5,206 Michigan high school students

In the past seven years, approximately 30 young people in Michigan, usually student athletes, died from sudden cardiac death. To help detect young people who are at higher risk for sudden cardiac death, Beaumont Hospitals offers high school students a free heart screening. Our Healthy Heart Check includes: medical history review, blood pressure assessment and an electrocardiogram. A doctor will listen to the student's heart and may decide to do an echocardiogram, a noninvasive picture of the heart. Screenings are now available at three different locations and dates. Register now.
