The Friars Are Coming! UM Glee Club Division at FHS Saturday for Fundraiser
The Ferndale Schools Eagles Pledge is bringing in the Friars for a fundraiser for Ferndale High School student scholarships.
The Friars of the University of Michigan are coming to Ferndale this Saturday.
The Ferndale Schools Eagles Pledge, a group that aims to help Ferndale grads with financial resources and support, presents The Friars in concert, an elite eight-student division of U of M’s Glee Club. The event will take place at 7 p.m. and general admission is $10.
All proceeds from the show will go toward scholarship funds for FHS graduates. Ferndale High will not only host the event, but will be a part of the show as well. The Ferndale High School choir is the opening act.

The Friars were formed in 1955 by Dr. Walter Collins, the second oldest glee club in the United States, and since then have performed in a variety of places including the White House, Spain, and Cuba.
Those attending the event can expect to hear the Friars sing songs such as Ain’t Too Proud To Beg, Kingdom In The Sky, and How To Get A Life, as well as several other selections.
