Pistons Mascot Hooper Visits Roosevelt for 'Homework before Hoops' Assembly

Palace Sports & Entertainment Year Round Hoops Director Aaron Smith gives Roosevelt students talk on being respectful and staying healthy.

The kids were loud, clapping, laughing and learning about staying in shape and being respectful. On Feb. 15, Palace Sports & Entertainment Year Round Hoops Director Aaron Smith and Detroit Pistons mascot "Hooper" visited for a "Homework before Hoops" assembly.

Smith discussed with the kids the importance of being respectful, police and good sports, as well as staying active and healthy.

The kids also participated in shooting contests against their teachers and a dance contest.

"This is a great assembly for the students," Roosevelt Principal Dina Krause said.
