Ferndale Schools Running Parent Testimonials on WWJ

Radio spots on WWJ-950 AM feature Ferndale parents talking about the district and why they send their kids there.

The Ferndale school district is running parent testimonials on WWJ-950 AM this month that promote the district's sense of community.

"It's about getting Ferndale on the map," said Stephanie Hall, Ferndale Schools community relations director.

The district recorded four radio spots to run each week of May.

"All four of my children attend Ferndale schools," Molly Bascom-Keller said in her radio ad that will air May 23-27. "We were attracted to Ferndale because of its unique magnet programs. Now we have kids in Ferndale's preschool all the way through high school."

Bascom-Keller has four children that attend Ferndale schools. "The best part about Ferndale schools is the incredible sense of community. And we love being part of it. Come experience Ferndale schools for yourself," she said, concluding her spot.

Ferndale High School Principal Herb Ivory introduces Ferndale parent Stephanie Melnick in the spot that will air May 30-June 3. "One of the best decisions we made for our children was to attend Ferndale schools," Melnick said. "They graduate this week and have plans to continue their education in some of the top universities in the country."

Melnick's daughter Natalie for being a 2011 Commended Scholar in the National Merit Scholarship Competition.

"Ferndale's welcoming community, fine arts and advance classes made it a great experience," Melnick said in the ad.
