Ferndale Public Schools Offers Free Summer Food Service Program

Children 18 years old and younger are eligible for meals at six sites throughout the city.

Ferndale Public Schools is pleased to announce a 2013 Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) that will provide every child 18 years and younger with free, nutritious meals throughout the summer. 

The program began June 17 at Ferndale and University High Schools.

Children who are 18 years of age or younger can participate, along with people who are deemed by the Michigan Department of Education or a local public educational agency to be mentally or physically disabled, regardless of age. 

The Summer Food Service Program is operated at the local level by program sponsors and is administered by the MDE Office of School Support Services.

Summer Food Service Program sites are located at six Ferndale locations (see attached PDF). Any child can attend any summer meal site.
