UPDATE: Ferndale Will Reschedule Kindergarten Roundup

Future kindergarteners and their parents will take free bus rides and meet the principals and teachers, visit the classrooms, and learn about what they can expect in the coming years

The 2014 Kindergarten Round Up that was scheduled for Wednesday, has been canceled because of continued hazardous conditions, officials with Ferndale Public Schools said late Tuesday night. A rescheduled date will be determined and communicated in the near future.

Kindergarten Round-Up is Wednesday for kids who will begin school in the fall of 2014.

The Ferndale Schools are providing a special evening opportunity for preschool parents and their children to visit Roosevelt and Kennedy Schools and learn all about kindergarten, according to a notice on the Ferndale Public Schools web site

Families can ride the bus with their soon-to-be kindergaretner. The free rides will begin at Grant Early Childhood Center at 5 pm, and will take families between Roosevelt and Kennedy at 6:25 pm, and then back to their starting point at 7:30 p.m. 

At each school, future kindergarteners and their parents will meet the principals and teachers, visit the classrooms, and learn about what they can expect in the coming years when they begin their K-12 journey in the Ferndale Schools.
