Could your teen be happier? Does school mean stress?

Oakland Schools offers a three-session conversation about adolescent wellness.

The conversations will cover the current state of the well-being of adolescents and the resources available to support schools and families. The cost is $20 per person for each session, which includes coffee and a relevant, current book about the subject.

The first conversation will center on bullying, teen suicide, and depression.

Speakers include Jessica Cooper from the Oakland County Prosecutors Office, Eric Hipple from the University of Michigan’s Depression Center, Kenzi Bisbing from Oakland Mediation Center, and Amelia Lehto from Common Ground.

Conversation participants will receive a personal copy of “The New Bullying” book. The book uses current research and real-life interviews and examples to report on cyber-bullying, school bullying, workplace bullying, computer threats and social exclusion.
