Alumni Spotlight: FHS Graduate Earns Postdoctoral Fellowship at University of Cambridge

Benjamin Dantzer, a member of the Ferndale High School graduating class of 1999, will move to Cambridge, England, for a postdoctoral fellowship this fall.

graduate Benjamin Dantzer, a member of the FHS graudating class of 1999, is headed to the University of Cambridge in England this fall for a postdoctoral fellowship.

Dantzer, 30, received his Ph.D. in evolutionary ecology and biology from Michigan State University in May and he was the recipient of numerous grants and awards during his time at MSU.

He and his wife and daughter will move to England for the fellowship, which could last up to five years. After that, he plans to pursue a professor position in zoology or evolutionary biology.

"I'll hopefully come back to the U.S. and get a job as a professor somewhere," he said.
