"We are open!" FernCare President Ann Heler told council Monday night.

To kick if off right, the clinic has scheduled a ribbon cutting ceremony and a come-check-out-the-new-digs event 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 8. "The (FernCare) board absolutely thanks everybody in the community and for great support we had to get this up and running," Heler said.

FernCare previously operated every second and fourth Sunday out of the Gerry Kulick Community Center. After a renovation of its new building 459 E. Nine Mile Rd., FernCare had its first session Saturday in its new space.

FernCare will still only operate two days a month until it can raise money to expand its hours.
