Council Meeting, 'Voice of the Eagles' Recognition Night and More This Week in Ferndale

Get ready for the week ahead in Ferndale with these five things to know.

1. City Council meeting

Ferndale City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Ferndale City Hall. Included on the agenda are appointments to the Board of Zoning Appeals and Beautification Commission and the consideration to purchase four Ferndale Police patrol vehicles at a total cost of $124,910.29. 2. Pop-up art installation

Happy Valentine’s Day FernCare Visual Art Installation is a 3D Pop-Up Window Display Fundraiser going on now through Feb. 16 at Mother Fletcher's in Ferndale. This installation is a spin-off from the original Fall In Love With Fashion (photos here) Valentine’s Day Art Exhibit premier 2012. Find full details here.

3. Pancake dinner fundraiser

Drayton Avenue Presbyterian Church is hosting a Pancake Supper at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Cost is $6 each. This all-you-can-eat fundraiser is being held for the Drayton Avenue high school youth group in support of their annual summer mission trip. All proceeds support the youth group. 4. Coffee hours with Sen. Gregory, Rep. Lipton

State Senator Vincent Gregory (D-Southfield) and State Representative Ellen Cogen Lipton (D-Huntington Woods) are inviting members of the community to join them for coffee and conversation regarding state and community issues on Thursday, February 14 at the Ferndale Public Library. 5. 'Voice of the Eagles' recognition night

Ferndale High School will host a dedication and unveiling of "The Joe Mahan Scoring Table” on Friday during the boys varsity basketball game. Tip off is at 7:15 p.m. The ceremony, which will take place during halftime, will include speeches from past FHS principal Herb Ivory and Ferndale Schools Superintendent Gary Meier.
