Woman Threatened in Ferndale Grocery Store Parking Lot

Police said the suspect approached a 67-year-old woman with a note that stated he had a gun.

Police are looking for a man who they said threatened a woman in a local parking lot on Wednesday.

Around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, a 67-year-old woman was loading groceries into her vehicle in the Ferndale Foods (previously Foodland) parking lot when she was approached by a man who asked the woman for directions, according to a news release from Ferndale Police Lt. William Wilson.

The man then went to his van and got out a sign that said he had a gun, and he told the woman not to scream, according to police. Another car pulled into the lot and parked next to the victim, causing the suspect to go back to the van and drive away, police said.
