Ferndale Police Lt. William Wilson said police have responded to similar issues at this motel in the past.

"We've had issues there," he said. "It's been quieter lately than it used to be, but it's definitely not your family type of hotel."

Wilson said the man initially stopped claimed he didn't do anything illegal and police had no evidence to prove otherwise. "So he was just sent on his way," Wilson said.
