Police Make Prostitution Arrest in Ferndale

A Ferndale resident was arraigned Thursday on charges of accosting and soliciting.

A 29-year-old Ferndale resident was arrested for suspected prostitution Thursday morning at Bonner and Nine Mile Road and was arraigned on charges of accosting and soliciting that afternoon in 43rd District Court in Ferndale.

At about 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Tammy Durham was attempting to flag down passing drivers, Lt. Detective William Wilson said in a released statement.

One of the drivers was an off-duty police officer. "He passed her by and contacted the Police Department for assistance of a patrol officer," Wilson said.
