Mom Arrested for Drunken Driving with Baby in Car

The woman told Ferndale Police she was swerving because she had been texting while driving, the Daily Tribune reports.

A 28-year-old Rochester woman was arrested in Ferndale around 12:45 a.m. Monday for drunken driving with her 6-month-old baby in the car, the Daily Tribune reports.

Ferndale Police reportedly stopped the woman for speeding and swerving around other cars on Eight Mile Road. She told police she had been swerving because she was texting while driving, according to the article.

A preliminary breath test showed the woman had a blood-alcohol level of 0.10. She was arrested and her infant was turned over to a relative, the article states.
