Law Enforcement Torch Run Hits Oakland County Streets

Agencies, including the Ferndale Police Department, participated Friday in the fundraiser for Special Olympics International.

Members of the Ferndale Police Department were slated to join agencies from throughout Oakland County on Friday during The Law Enforcement Torch Run fundraiser for Special Olympics International.

The relay, which included eastern and western legs that came together in Southfield, raised money and awareness for athletes who participate in Special Olympics Michigan.

"Michigan's Torch Run program had a record breaking year in 2012, raising over $1,000,000," according to its website.
