Indecent Exposure Reported in Ferndale

A man reportedly exposed himself to a woman in the area of Romeo and Orchard on Dec. 13.

Ferndale Police are looking for a man who reportedly exposed himself and began masturbating in front of a woman while she sat in her parked car in her driveway.

Around 1:25 a.m. Dec. 13, police responded to a call from a 28-year-old woman in the area of Romeo and Orchard reporting an indecent exposure.

The woman told police she was sitting in her vehicle in her driveway and talking on her cell phone when an unknown man approached her vehicle and knocked on the window, according to a news release from Ferndale Police.

The woman was startled and turned to see the man had his penis exposed and was masturbating. She honked her horn and yelled at the man and he ran off north on Romeo then west on Breckenridge, the report states.

The woman reportedly hesitated for about 30 minutes before she called the police.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 5'10" and 155 pounds, with dark hair, dark eyes and a mustache and stubble on his face, according to police. The woman said the man was wearing dark clothing and may possibly be of Italian descent, the report states.

Ferndale Police Lt. William Wilson said he does not believe this incident is related to a Nov. 27 indecent exposure incident that occurred in a Ferndale parking lot.

He encouraged people to contact police right away to report incidents such as this.

"Call right away because the greater the time span the less chance we have of solving it," Wilson said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Ferndale Police Department at 248-541-3650.
