A Warren man faces a carrying a concealed weapon on Wednesday after a gun was found in his glove box during a traffic stop in Ferndale.
According to a news release from Ferndale Police, the driver was pulled over around 2:15 a.m. Feb. 13 after police observed him running a stop sign in his Honda at Saratoga and Woodward.
The officer spoke with the driver, 25-year-old Manhal Siba, of Warren, and noticed the man had the odor of intoxicants on his breath, the news release states.
When the officer asked if he had contraband in the car, Siba said he had a handgun in the glove box. The officer then recovered a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol in the glove box and several rounds of ammunition in the trunk, according to the release.
Siba was arrested on a carrying a concealed weapon charge, a five-year felony. Magistrate James Brennan arraigned Siba on Feb. 13 and set a $5000 personal bond.
