Ferndale Woman Gives Up Cash After Assailant Allegedly Threatens to 'Cut' Her

A 52-year-old woman was walking home from the library when a robber allegedly held a knife to her back.

A 52-year-old Ferndale woman reportedly relinquished her cash Monday night after a robber held a knife to her back and threatened to cut her if she didn’t comply.

The robbery occurred about 7 p.m. Monday as the woman walked home from the Ferndale Public Library, located on East 9 Mile. She was about two blocks from the library, walking on Paxton south of Vester, when the robbery occurred, the Detroit Free Press reports.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned, clean-shaven black man who was wearing all black. The hood of his thick parka-type jacket was wrapped tightly around his head and face, police said in a news release. The victim was unable to tell police anything about his height or build.
