Suspected Gunman Arrested in Dec. 8 Shooting at Taft Education Center

A 17-year-old Detroit resident is in custody while another suspect was released as the investigation continues, Ferndale police say.

 have a suspect in custody who they believe is the gunman involved in the at , authorities announced Wednesday.

According to a news release from Ferndale Police Detective Lt. William Wilson, two people were arrested in connection with the shooting, one of whom has been released pending further investigation. The other, a 17-year-old from Detroit, remains in custody and is suspected of being the gunman in the incident, according to Wilson.

Wilson wrote that the matter is still under investigation and no further information is available at this time. He could not be immediately reached for comment Wednesday.
