Ferndale Pharmacy Robbery Suspects Headed to Federal Court

The three suspects involved in the of are expected to be arraigned in U.S. District Court in Detroit tomorrow afternoon.

The "anticipates" the FBI will get federal warrants Thursday morning, Ferndale Police Lt. Detective William Wilson said in a statement Wednesday afternoon.

"If all goes smoothly, the prisoners will be arraigned in federal court (Thursday) afternoon," Wilson said.

The feds are taking the case due to specific federal laws focusing on armed robberies and pharmacies, the Daily Tribune reported. 

Ferndale Police as the suspects began the incident, Wilson said Tuesday. She left the line open and police were able to track down where the call came from.

Ferndale Police were able to get to the scene before the robbery had concluded.

Hazel Park, Royal Oak and Detroit police departments, as well as the Oak Park Public Safety Department assisted the Ferndale Police in the robbery.

"They were screaming, like, loud. Saying get down, counting to three or we'll shoot you," said a pharmacist working that day. The pharmacist requested to not be identified for privacy reasons.

Wilson said one shot was fired during the robbery. .

No one was seriously injured in the incident, Ferndale Police said. The two gunmen, 44 and 19, both of Oak Park, and one getaway driver, 19 of Hamtramck, were apprehended shortly after the armed robbery took place. The getaway driver was apprehended in Detroit after a chase with police and a subsequent crash. The two gunmen were apprehended in Ferndale.
