Ferndale Pharmacy Armed Robbery Suspects Expected to be Arraigned Today

Federal authorities will handle case in which three men are suspected of robbing store Monday evening.

The three suspects in the are being turned over to the FBI and will be prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney General's office.

The three suspects – 41-year-old and 19-year-old men from Oak Park and a 19-year-old from Hamtramck – will be turned over to federal officials this afternoon and are expected to be arraigned in U.S. District Court, Ferndale Police Lt. Detective William Wilson said. Wilson didn't have details on the time or place of the arraignment as of mid-day.

The Oak Park men are suspected of robbing Ferndale Pharmacy and five employees around 6:30 p.m. Monday. The two men allegedly tied up the employees with zip locks and threatened them with force while they robbed the store of drugs and money. The Hamtramck man is suspected of being the getaway driver who led Ferndale Police on a chase into Detroit where the getaway vehicle, a Honda Odyssey minivan, crashed.

Police officers apprehended all suspects shortly after the incident.

Less than 48 hours later, . As a result of the second crime, the owners have decided to close the pharmacy for good.
