Ferndale Man Found Incompetent for Trial in Indecent Exposure Case

Suspect to be held at Center for Forensic Psychiatry on $25,000 bond, the Daily Tribune reports.

A man accused of exposing himself to a Ferndale woman last August was found incompetent for trial on Thursday in 43rd District Court, according to an article in the Daily Tribune.

Kurtis Collis, 23, is charged with aggravated indecent exposure - a two-year misdemeanor - after the Aug. 29, 2012 incident and is being held at the Center for Forensic Psychiatry in Ypsilanti on a $25,000 bond, the article states. He will be examined periodically to determine his competency to stand trial.

According to the Daily Tribune, the man has been found not guilty of similar misdemeanor crimes in the past by reason of insanity. Read the full story here.

Collis reportedly went to the woman's house on East Hazelhurst Aug. 29, 2012 and after he took multiple trips to the bathroom, she noticed him standing in her hallway, smiling at her and fondling himself. She yelled at him to leave and he complied, police told The Daily Tribune.
